Welcome to
the
On behalf of the 287 active duty, retired, civilian and industry IT professionals who make up the Greater Omaha AFCEA Chapter, I would like to welcome you to our homepage.
AFCEA serves as a bridge between government requirements and industry capabilities, representing the top government, industry and military professionals in the fields of information technology, communications and intelligence. Locally, our strategic partners include the 55th Wing, USSTRATCOM, the Air Force Weather Agency, local defense contractors and the Peter Kiewit Institute just to name a few! As President, I am proud of this chapter and the relationship it bolsters within the Greater Omaha community. In addition to a great working environment with these professionals, our chapter is also dedicated to developing tomorrow's professionals through scholarships and participation with local elementary schools, high schools and colleges. In 2006, the chapter gave away over $26,000 in college scholarships to individuals working towards IT-related degrees.
In addition to monthly luncheons with guest speakers, each year the chapter hosts a TechNet Symposium with vendor displays and demonstrations, luncheon keynote speakers, various presenters and panels, and a coveted golf tournament. The 2006 TechNet, held 23-25 May at the Patriot Club, was another resounding success! A huge thanks to the many vendors and volunteers that made the event a showcase for the local community.
It is truly our industry sponsors who make it possible for us to fund several types of scholarships, host our annual TechNet Symposium and to hold monthly luncheons with prominent speakers. We thank our sponsors for their continued support. Visit our sponsorship pages of luncheon sponsors or TechNet sponsors .
We'd like to welcome you to become an AFCEA member and be part of the Greater Omaha AFCEA Chapter. In addition to professional networking, some of the membership benefits include a monthly subscription to Signal magazine, a quarterly Chapter newsletter, participation in our monthly luncheons and an opportunity for awards and scholarships. Click here for the membership application procedures and to take advantage of all the wonderful things AFCEA has to offer!
In closing, this year promises to be one of the best yet! Our focus will be on expanding our network to reach out to the intelligence community and gain insights into net centric transformation. We hope you will become a part of our team!
Sincerely,
Boykin B. Jordan, Colonel, USAF
