Dear Educator,
The Greater Omaha Chapter of the Association for Communications, Electronics, Intelligence, and Information Systems Professionals (AFCEA) is pleased to announce the offering of financial grants (up to $1,000 each). The grant may be disbursed as directed by the selected teacher to purchase consumable supplies for science experiments and activities in the classroom. Selection will be based on need and the quality of the programs offered. This grant is not renewable.
This program is a joint effort between The AFCEA Educational Foundation and our chapter to promote effective science teaching and to enhance the abilities of capable teachers in secondary schools. The AFCEA Educational Foundation will provide $1,000 for a high school or junior high school teacher to purchase supplies and/or equipment that would augment science experiments and activities in the classroom. Our chapter will at least match that amount, and perhaps more depending on the number and quality of submissions.
AFCEA is an international, professional association chartered as an educationally oriented, non-profit, technical group. Its mission is to promote excellence in electronics, computer technology, intelligence, and communications systems. The Greater Omaha Chapter, with over 260 members from the armed forces, government, industry and educational institutions, holds monthly meetings with featured speakers. The Chapter also sponsors an annual Conference/Exposition on current topics related to the electronics, communications, computer and intelligence fields. The Chapter provides scholarship grants to students at local-area high schools and colleges as well as equipment grants to purchase electronic training kits, test equipment and computer hardware/software.
We look forward to your submission, and wish you the best of luck in the competition. If I can be of further assistance or offer additional information, please call me at 402-312-6295 or E-mail me at crews.nancy@gmail.com (preferred).
Sincerely,
