Young AFCEAN

Are you a Young AFCEAN? Young AFCEANs are 35 years of age or younger. Young AFCEANs are the lifeline of the Greater Omaha Chapter, and invariably the visionaries who will continue to press the boundaries of the different communications-computer disciplines. Young AFCEANs, under the leadership of SrA William McGhee, are striving to learn more about their chosen profession, as well as establishing long-term relationships with their peers throughout the communications-computer community. Towards that end, all Young AFCEANs are invited to participate in the different activities organized by our chapter. We think it is a great opportunity to come and see what AFCEA is all about, and the membership can enhance your professional development as well, so give us a try.

How do we need you? If you're wondering in what ways you can become involved in the chapter, here is an excerpt from an article that was published in the Signal magazine May 2001..."Mr. Joseph Boeggeman, the Greater Omaha Chapter's Academic Coordinator, has been busier than most on the weekends by spending his time with Explorer Post 379. Joseph has been conducting a class on Visual Basic that prescribes to standards of Western University, Iowa & Bellevue University, Nebraska. Although no college credit is given, through the years, over 300 explorers have successfully completed this class. The age of the members in the post range from 14 to 21 -- some of these youths come from disparaging backgrounds. However, through opportunities for web development, LAN implementation, and systems analysis, Joseph has intrigued a majority of these youngsters and helped foster their development. Other attributes of Post 379 involve using salvaged PCs to install LANs into local schools and non-profit institutions within the Omaha metropolitan area..."
