Our short-term goal is to "Ensure people of diverse intellectual, cultural and social backgrounds participate fully in affairs of the organization, and that AFCEA is enriched by the presence of diversity." In the long run, we hope to see our Chapter become a role model for spreading diversity.

The purpose of the Diversity Chairperson position is to:

• Foster effective diversity practices, therefore enhance the AFCEA Chapter membership
• Integrate the principles of diversity into the Chapter
• Provide the members with an opportunity to network, develop lasting bonds/friendships and interact with the BoD team
• Discuss diversity issues; share ideas and information on diversity matters and events; collaborate on and implement diversity initiatives; and leverage organizational resources. Foster an environment of acceptance, inclusion, and cooperation.

Interested representatives need only have a strong affinity to represent the diverse workplace of the AFCEA community and to support the goals of this Chapter.
